There are a lot of great shows to see over Memorial Day weekend and beyond; including a collection of humongous dinosaurs, the marvelous Meklit and much more. Here’s a partial rundown.Super-sized dinos stalk S.F.Kids (and most parents) love dinosaurs, right? And the bigger the better. And that’s exactly what we’re getting with a new exhibit featuring plus-sized prehistoric behemoths opening this weekend at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco.Captivatingly titled “The World’s Largest Dinosaurs,” the exhibit, organized by the American Museum of Natural History in New York, goes on a deep dive into the lives of the long-necked and long-tailed sauropods, whose ranks include the famed 60-foot-long Mamenchisaurus. And we’re not just talking about fossilized bone collections and skeletal reproductions (although there are plenty of those). The exhibit also examines how these creatures’ massive sizes were sustained by, and influe...‘SmartLess: On the Road’ review: 3 men and a podcast — Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes on tour

Nina Metz | Chicago TribuneSince 2020, actors Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes have co-hosted a podcast together called “SmartLess.” Last year they took the show out on a short national tour, and that adventure is documented in the six-part Max docuseries “SmartLess: On the Road,” which follows the celebrity friends and co-workers to stops on the East Coast, Midwest and then back to Los Angeles.Perhaps the decision to shoot in black-and-white was meant to undercut some of the pampered Hollywood trappings of the trip. But director Sam Jones (whose credits include the Wilco film “I Am Trying to Break Your Heart” and more recently a Tony Hawk documentary) isn’t here to encourage his subjects to shed their well-honed veneer so much as simply document their first-class travels and neurotic conversational jabs. As a trio, Arnett, Bateman and Hayes are self-aware enough to poke fun at their rarefied status while also being disinclined to abandon the perks of said status. It’s an ac...Rapper Fetty Wap sentenced to 6 years for drug trafficking

After spending more than a month on the injured list to recover from issues related to anxiety, Trevor May’s return to a big league mound did not go as planned.May, who hadn’t hit a batter in four years, plunked the first guy he faced.Entering in the ninth inning of the A’s 3-2 loss to the Mariners, May threw three pitches to Ty France, hitting him with the third one, a 95-mph fastball up near the face. France lifted his hands in time to protect himself, but the pitch went off his left hand and eventually forced France out of the game.Three batters later, May drilled Eugenio Suarez in the back with another 95-mph fastball, which prompted boos from the crowd at Safeco Field.“If you gave me a million guesses on how the inning was going to go, I wouldn’t have guessed those things,” May told reporters after the game. “But good to be out there, tried to take it all in. Especially being home. I played my state championship game here. It’s a lot of full circle stuff. Just trying to interna...Juveniles are behind Oakland robbery crime sprees, police chief says
