WILTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Police have arrested a suspect in connection to a larceny reported in Wilton on October 25. Joellyn Bedford, 50, was charged with grand larceny in the second degree and criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree. Investigations determined that Bedford used a forged bank cashier's check with a false name to purchase a 2021 Ford Bronco from a seller. She then sold the vehicle to a dealership in Otsego County.Police arrested her while she was preparing to board a plane for an overseas flight. (NEWS10)--A New York State Senator has introduced legislation to reimburse school districts for costs associated with teaching migrant students.Since the beginning of the school year, Mohonasen Central School District has had between 60 to 70 migrant students. Superintendent Shannon Shine was asked about the costs associated with having more kids."A rough estimate is about $300,000," said Shine. I know it’s gonna end up being more. The way I come up with that figure is I say, okay, we are hiring two new English as a second language teachers, we hired a couple bilingual TA’s, we have additional support services that are being taken up. TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Kyle Hutchinson, 23, of Schenectady, was sentenced to prison for second-degree murder and first-degree burglary. Hudson City Police are asking residents to be on alert for any suspicious activity after a child was nearly kidnapped. Police say they were called out to a stretch of Harry Howard Avenue near M.C. Montgomery Elementary around noon, Thursday. They say they are investigating the attempted abduction of a nine-year-old boy. Big Johnson’s Kitchen is open for business Chief of Police, Mishanda Franklin, says the boy was walking home from school with his older sister when, “a large white van pulled up to him, and in Spanish, said in a low voice ‘get in the back while motioning to the back of his van. ST. LOUIS - A man convicted in a shootout with St. Louis police after an attempted robbery last year has been sentenced to prison. A judge has sentenced Pierre Lamont Richmond, 35, to 15 years in prison on charges that stem from the shootout incident on Feb. 13, 2022, in north St. Louis. Investigators say Richmond walked into a Currency Exchange building in the 900 block of North Grand Boulevard when he handed a note to a clerk. Arrest made in deadly Clayton shooting The note reportedly read: “5,000 NOW Good Friend.” The clerk did not comply with this order, then Richmond pulled a gun and demanded that the clerk give him whatever cash was available. The clerk told him she did not have access to cash without approval from her manager, and she went to a back office, called 911 and hid until police arrived.After waiting several minutes, Richmond left the building and noticed police in the parking lot. BELLEVILLE, Ill. -- A man was hit by a SUV Thursday in the 2500 block of Carlyle Avenue at around 5:20 p.m. The crash victim was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.According to police, a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado traveling westbound struck the man as he was crossing the street close to Hardee's. A Highlands Ranch woman was sentenced to 40 years in prison this week for killing her newborn baby in 2020. The body was found in a grocery store bag underneath a bathroom sink in her home.Peyton M. Green, 22, pleaded guilty to child abuse that knowingly and recklessly caused death on Thursday, according to the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.Green sought medical treatment at the UCHealth Highlands Ranch emergency room on Sept. 26, 2020, for vaginal bleeding.
