SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Wednesday was National Vietnam War Veterans Day, which marked the day in 1973 when the last remaining U.S. troops left Vietnam. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! Some local organizations came together to honor those who have served during the Vietnam War. A ceremony was held at the Empire State Aerosciences Museum at the Schenectady County Airport. Veterans were presented with lapel pins as a way of recognizing their service. NEW YORK STATE (NEWS10) -- The New York Department of Motor Vehicles is taking new steps to increase organ donor enrollment. Drivers registering a vehicle at the DMV will now be asked to consider joining the donation registry.The question will be displayed on the transaction screen during registration. With a winter storm warning in effect for some mountain communities, many are bracing for snow as yet another weather system moves across the region, just weeks after blizzard conditions left many in San Bernardino County residents trapped in their homes and in need of emergency assistance. Snow had already started falling in the San Bernardino County Mountains by Wednesday afternoon, an area that has already received unprecedented amounts of snow in a short amount of time. California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a law that will attempt to combat alleged gas price gouging, Wednesday.The law allows the State Energy Resources Conservation and Development Commission to set a maximum gross gasoline refining margin, regulating the amount of profits an oil company can make from gasoline sales. The commission will also have the authority to fine companies if it finds it exceeds the gross margins.“With this legislation, we’re ending the oil industry’s days of operating in the shadows,” Newsom said in a statement Wednesday. “California took on Big Oil and won.
