2 arrested after elderly woman found dead in Torrance home

Two people have been arrested in connection with the death of an elderly woman in a Torrance home earlier this week, police said Wednesday.Torrance police officers responded to a home in the 24200 block of Walnut Street around 6:30 p.m. Monday for a suspicious death.The woman was found dead in the home and detectives later determined she was the victim of a homicide, police said without elaborating.After an investigation, one person was arrested on suspicion of murder, and a second was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory after the fact. Police have not identified the suspects and only described them as being adults. Amaya Hernandez in Critical Condition after Fatal Accident on Dover AvenueKINGS COUNTY, CA (July 5, 2023) – Saturday night, a motorcycle collision claimed the life of Brandon Moreno and left Amaya Hernandez injured.The incident happened on May 27th, officers responded to the area of Highway 43 and Dover Avenue, just north of Hanford, involving a motorcycle-vehicle crash.According to reports, Moreno and Hernandez were traveling south on a motorcycle southbound on Highway 43. OAKLAND — The suspect in a $1 million arson at the Target in Emeryville has been released from jail on the condition he not possess ignitable materials or return to the store, court records show.Reuben Ramirez-Berg, 26, was released on his own reconnaissance last month by Judge James Cramer. Three days after a police dog’s AWOL adventure made headlines, another K9 officer has gone missing in the Fresno area.Kona, missing police dog. (Reedley Police Department) The police department in Reedley reported that one of its dogs, a German shepherd named Kona, escaped his handler’s garage in Visalia around 11 p.m. Tuesday. It is thought he was agitated by fireworks.The tracking device that had been on the dog’s collar was found in an area of orchards southeast of Visalia.Reedley police asked that anyone who sees Kona call them at (559) 637-4250.
