Austin's Trail of Lights makes national list of 25 best Christmas light displays Editor's Note: The above video is KXAN's previous coverage of the Trail of Lights.AUSTIN (KXAN) -- U.S. News & World Report listed Austin's Trail of Lights in its rankings of the best Christmas light displays in the nation for 2023. The list features 25 displays and tours across the country, and while Austin's trail was the only Texas display listed, the state's neighbors to the east and west were mentioned in the rankings as well. Austin's famous display was also listed in U.S. News & World Report's 2022 list of the top displays in the country. U.S. News & World Report featured a statewide holiday display tour in Louisiana and Albuquerque, New Mexico's River of Lights. (WTEN) - About every five minutes, a woman in the U.S. is told that she has lung cancer according to the American Lung Association. The underlying cause of lung cancer is when the DNA within lung cells undergoes an abnormal change or mutation that makes the cells multiply. According to Columbia University Irving Medical Center, mutations can be the result of various factors, although the most common for lung cells is smoke. However, the American Lung Association says 20% of women and men diagnosed, have never smoked a day in their life.While lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer deaths among Americans, survival rates have dramatically improved over the past 10 years. (NEWS10) -- Twenty-five individuals have been charged with 164 crimes for their alleged roles in a major drug trafficking ring operating in the Capital Region. The ring reportedly distributed fentanyl, heroin, and powder and crack cocaine in Albany, Dutchess, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady counties. Attica on lockdown after DOCCS reports violence BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Authorities locked down the Attica Correctional Facility on Tuesday after "several acts of violence" at the jail, according to the State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS). DOCCS said that inmates eventually assaulted several staff members, including one corrections officer stabbed several times and another who suffered serious injuries to his face. LOUIS - Two suspects took off with lottery tickets, cigarettes and cash during an early-morning armed robbery at a St. Louis 7-Eleven store. The robbery happened around 5 a.m. Tuesday at the 7-Eleven store in the 4900 block of Christy Boulevard, which is located in the city's Bevo neighborhood. Investigators say two suspects entered the store behind a customer, displayed handguns and announced their intent for a robbery. They reportedly ordered to clerk to open the cash register. U.S. Steel idles steelmaking at Granite City Works ‘indefinitely’ The robbers, believed to be two men, took off with an unspecified amount of cash, in addition to an unconfirmed number of cigarettes and lottery tickets.
