After surviving a heart attack, the 74-year-young Veteran used the near-death experience as a wake-up call to sign a new lease on life. Catskill High School quadruplets, cousin graduate top of senior class Eight years ago, Wes suffered a heart attack caused by side effects of Agent Orange exposure during his time in the Army and underwent a 5-way cardio bypass surgery. Recovering from surgery, Wes had a goal to get active, so he’d be able to again compete in throwing, his passion when he was a teen. It was a long road, but he said the support of friends, family and his doctors helped him tremendously along the way. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. - Part of the historic brick Main Street in St. Charles is closed after a water main break.Crews are working right by 'Tony's on Main Street,' where the water main break happened. The damage here is far beyond just the break itself. There's significant damage to the historic Main Street where part of the street has buckled from the break. Crews investigating home explosion in Granite City, Illinois An official at the scene shared that authorities got the initial call about the water main break around 6:30 p.m. We're told the main that broke was a 10-inch main.The water main has since been fixed, and water service should be shortly. However, repairs to the stretch of historic Main Street could take much longer.

Crews investigating home explosion in Granite City, Illinois GRANITE CITY, Ill. - Emergency crews are at the scene of a home explosion in Granite City.The home exploded around 2:45 a.m. That home was destroyed in pieces and a neighboring home was damaged as well. We're told the homeowner goes to work around midnight, and their car is not here. The occupants of the second home were unharmed.Asst. Chief Rich Moore with the Granite City Fire Department said crews will be out there for some time to investigate. Their initial thoughts are this is a gas explosion. Few mpox cases in Colorado so far this summer, but risk of another outbreak remains So far, Colorado has only reported a handful of mpox cases this year, but health officials are urging at-risk people to get vaccinated and consider other precautions this summer.Mpox, formerly known as monkeypox, took off in Colorado and nationwide in spring and summer 2022. The virus is native to parts of Africa and typically jumps into humans sporadically when people hunt or live close to animals that carry it. Last year, however, it was spreading between people in countries where it normally isn’t found, mostly through sexual networks.The mpox rash can resemble other sexually transmitted infections or even pimples, but often causes severe pain. Some people also experience flu-like symptoms.
